Hatha yoga classes are slow moving classes guiding you through a series of physical shapes with the body (known as Asanas or postures) which are designed to gently stress they body's strength, flexibility, balance and mobility encouraging improvements in all aspects. Classes will typically include some yoga ethics and philosophy, movement of the body for health and vitality, breathing exercises to reduce stress and calm the mind and nervous system and meditation practicing focus. All levels of ability are welcome.
Vinyasa Yoga classes fuse movement and breath allowing the practitioner to fully embrace their practice.
Vinyasa Yoga classes emphasise the sequential movement between postures, coordinated with and guided by deliberate breath. The Vinyasa practice becomes a moving meditation that creates strength, freedom and fluidity in the body and mind. Classes will have some yang aspects to elevate the heart rate as we work within your limits to gain strength, flexibility, balance and mobility but also incorporate some yin aspects to include meditation and self reflection.
Monday morning classes are proudly supported by Moreton Bay Council's Healthy and Active Moreton Program. What is gentle yoga? Gentle yoga is essentially what it sounds like—a gentler style of hatha yoga practice. It is performed at a slower pace, with less intense positions, and usually includes extended time for meditation, yogic breath work, and relaxation. Gentle yoga is suitable for all levels of participants.
I am proud to provide School Holiday Yoga with the support of Moreton Bay's Active Holidays Program. Classes are designed to include some fun and engaging activities while including practice of breath control and specific postures known as asana to provide a range of physical, spiritual and mental relaxation. Yoga teaches children to be calm while gaining awareness of the body, self control and discipline. When children practice yoga it increases their confidence, builds concentration and strengthens growing bodies. For children with behavioural issues yoga can improve their ability to self regulate their impulses in a positive way to help manage their behaviour. Private yoga classes are a great option for those who for various reasons aren't comfortable taking group classes and also for students wanting to build their personal yoga practice. You can make an appointment just for yourself or for a small group of people, indoor or outdoor and at a time that suits your schedule. This option gives you as a student a bit more control over what yoga practice/style you are wanting to work on. If this is something you are interested in then please contact me to discuss and arrange.
